The other side of Zion

Driving toward the east entrance and the tunnels

Driving out of Zion and heading toward Bryce Canyon there is an other way of doing it! One way is to drive through the tunnels in Zion National Park and drive in/out the East Entrance of the park. It’s quite curvy road and the tunnel is not large so if you are going around with big RV rig check the measurement rules. Talked with a guy who was driving a normal Mercedes “fashion “ camper van and got the top corners scraped by the tunnel walls as he got squeezed out by traffic going the other way…. tunnel is not high and large!!

To get to the drive from Springdale you drive into the Zion National Park and keep on the Zion-Mount Carmel Hwy. It is a great day trip option to do with a car from Sringdale as well. Very different look of Zion and fun drive. There is not much beyond the East Gate expect about 15 miles past there is a big Ranch with Bison and all kinds of tourist stuff to do! Did not stop but looked kinda “Montana” to me! ha ha

Kids having a bit of a break from the drive

There are bunch of hikes straight off the road. Do go early in the morning as it is quite popular road destination specially for the younger crowd.
